Today, 13 Years Ago.... Attack Was Made On the USA
13 years ago America, and the world on a whole was drastically changed forever.
Above is the view in New York City signifying the memorial for the twin towers.
On September 11, 2001, four commercial planes were hijacked in the United States. All flown by terrorist. Two were flown into the two World Trade Center Towers in New York City, one was flown into the Pentagon, and the fourth crashed in Pennsylvania before carrying out the final terroristic act.
I remember where I was when the first plane hit. Sitting in English class, private school at the time. The announcement came on for us to turn on the news. As I sat and watched the replay of the first plane, and then the hit of the second, the tears began to roll down my face. The entire school rushed into chapel for prayer. The emotions from students, faculty and staff was like nothing I had ever felt amongst such a vast amount of people.
The question of why? Rumbled through my mind for months after the attack.
To me America stands for: life, liberty, and freedom. On 9/11/2001 terrorist decided that attacking the America was the right thing to do.
All I can say, is I pray for those individuals, and everyone or anyone else that feels this way is right. I hope that these victims families were able to find peace. After 13 years I know the pain still saddens those who lost a loved one, but I know that time heals all.
GOD BLESS THE USA

Michelle Obama's full DNC speech
First Lady Obama gave a remarkable speech last night to delegates at the Democratic National Convention. I must say that I particularly favor Mrs. Obama.
Not just because "she is the president's wife" but because of what she stands for.
How she isn't afraid to speak out, and stand up for what she believes in.
I myself admire the kind of woman she is for her family values, and leadership skills.
Take a moment and see for yourself, why I admire First Lady Obama.

President Obama's Delay In Immigration Action
Anger from immigration advocates quickly sparked upon notification of President Obama's delay in immigration action. President Obama has been accused of "playing politics" and Latinos say that, "The president’s latest broken promise is another slap to the face of the Latino and immigrant community." I must say that I understand the reason behind the anger. However, I do agree with President Obama's white house officials, that an immigration announcement before November will definitely upset conservatives across the country, and have a devastating affect on the Democratic efforts.
Changes to the immigration system is a major controversial issue, that I strongly believe requires immediate attention. And I think that instead of looking at this delay as an effort of President Obama not wanting to deal with the issue, I believe the Latino/immigration community should look at this simply for what it is. I don't believe that President Obama is saying that this issue should fall to the bottom of the list in regards to issues that should be addressed, nor do I believe he is saying that he will not address this issue. The kind of President that we have, supports the Democratic ideas, and understands the value of this issue. Please take a moment to review for yourself.

Are they really ready to make a cease fire deal????...
So I just finished reading an article on Ukraine and pro Russian rebels. Now that NATO leaders has made clear of its support for Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that he is now ready to order a cease-fire. My question is why did it take four months of fighting to come to this decision? There is no doubt about it that Russia should be punished for it's conduct in Ukraine. I would hope for a peaceful resolution, however if it takes harsher sanctions against Russia for them to get a clue, I am all for that as well.
Take a moment to read the article for yourself, and let me know your take on this "cease fire deal."

Blog Intention....
Hi, My name is Dana Neilly.
I have created this blog in an effort to communicate with my fellow classmates on mass media political topics.
I am new to the blog world, so I am excited to see how the communication and discussion forum is engaged.
There are many things that are happening around the world daily.
Some of which the media pays close attention to, and some in which I believe the media could induce a greater effort in establishing importance.
What I understand at this point, is that the political world including policies, and white house discussions are particularly driven by the media.
The media plays a persuasive role in identifying the issues, and debates of the political rim.
